RADOM in POLAND

The Radom Lapidarium is from actual burials at that site. A Polish tombstone maker removed the hedstones when the Nazis were using tombstones to pave the roads. He put them in a warehouse thinking he'd sell them after the war. After the war one couldn't have anything of historic value so they remained in the warehouse. Haim Kinzler, the head of the Israeli Radom Society, became aware of them and got the tombstone maker's kids to donate them to the city. A collaboration between the Poland prison system and the Israeli prison system resulted in the Lapidarium which was built in the Jewish cemetery.
