Cemetery Description

The cemetery looks very well kept but some of the graves are very old and are quite unreadable. We photographed only some of the graves, about a third I think. The cemetery used to be much bigger but it was reduced at some point.

There is also a photo of a monument representing a mass grave for the remains of the Jews who were murdered inside the Jewish hospital on the Eve before the first day of Shvat 5705, On the eve of Shavuot, the building was burnt down and the remains, ashes and bones, were brought to the cemetery and buried in this mass grave.

The cemetery is very easy to reach by tram, the final station for a few different numbers is right across the streets and 50m up the road from the gate. We called the local Jewish community to schedule a visit but they told us we can just get there. When we did we didn't see anyone and the gate was closed but not shut. There was a bucket for washing your hands on the way out and a towel to dry your hands.
