RING
Description Our search concentration is on the following: RING, Herman (Tzvi Hersh), wife Helene ( Leni BLOCH) and their children; Bernhard, Leopold (Elikom,) John Joseph, Clementine and Salca (Sali). In addition we are searching for Helene's second husband Adolph KWASNY or KWASNEY and son, Felix Michael KWASNY who later changed his name to Felix Michael RING.

In 2003 a professional researcher in Bielsko Biala was hired and offered the following results. The information comes from Jewish record books, city census records, tax and business records from The State Archive in Bielsko-Biala.

Around 1870 Herman RING went to Kety near Biala (Bielsko) and from Kety he went to Bystra near Bielsko. Herman RING died in Bystra house number 8, in July 21, 1884 at 34 years of age and is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Bielsko-Aleksandrowice, grave number: F-VIII-2272.

Bernhard RING was born March 23, 1883 in Bystra, house number 8. Bernhard RING and was the son of Herman RING and Helene (Leni) BLOCH.

Baruch BLOCH was the father of Helene (Leni) BLOCH-RING.

Salca (Sali) RING was born in Bystra in house number 8. She died April 13, 1881 in Bystra. She was the daughter of Herman RING and Helene (Leni) BLOCH. Sali is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Bielsko-Aleksandrowice in children sector "D".

In 1885 a baby was born to Herman RING and Helene (Leni) BLOCH in Bystra. The child died during birth and was not named. The baby is buried in Jewish cemetery in Bielsko-Aleksandrowice in children sector "D".

Our suspicions have been that Helene RING was married twice. What the researcher discovered in Poland lends more credibility to those suspicions. It's possible this is why the parentage for Leopold, John, Clementine and Felix is so confusing. No information on Leopold, John and Clementine was found by the professional researcher. It's possible that the three were born in what is now Bystra, Nowy Sacz, or Grybow, all of which are near Tarnow in the province of Galicia.

WALTER S. DZIEKIEWICZ, b. 1905, Olneyville, RI; d. April 30, 1967, 2317 Fifth Ave. Pittsburgh, PA; m. EDNA, 1940, Pittsburgh, PA; b. Unknown, unknown; d. Unknown, unknown.

Notes for WALTER S. DZIEKIEWICZ:
Walter left RI because Grandfather Alexander thought he stole money. Walter was rowdy and mischievous and his parents couldn't handle him. He went to live with relatives in Pitt. Those relatives could have been Felix Michael (KWASNEY) RING or John Ring.

Walter worked at the Carlton Hotel in Pittsburg in the 20's as a bus boy. He also fought professionally as a light weight under the name "Kewpie RING the Battling Bus Boy."

Walter met a girl in Pitt. named Edna. Walter dated Edna ? for sixteen years, and then they finally married. When they married the two visited George (brother) in Rhode Island while on their honeymoon. It is remembered as being 1940 or 1941.

Walter had diabetes.

After Edna's death (approx 1960 - 1962) and in the later years of his life, he moved in with friends (definitely not family) in Pittsburgh, possibly on Fifth Ave. Because he was so ill the "friends"
cleaned out his bank account supposedly for medicine and surgery.

Walter had to have his leg amputated because of his sugar problem. Walter had stocks and bonds, and his brother George could never find a trace of them after Walter's death. It is believed the "friends" convinced him to sign them over to him.
