Type / Call #INSTITUTION / I-033Contains a printed copy of the proposal, in Hebrew and English, dated 1824 from Solomon Herschell, the Chief Rabbi of England, to form the Hebra Tarmout Hakodesh; a printed extract of the consitution and a report of the activities of the Society published in New York in 1846; a printed request for assistance from the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Palestine, Heyim Abraham Gagin. I.B. Kursheedt was President of the Society in America.
