Type / Call # | INSTITUTIONAL / I-112 | 26 Dutch and Portuguese documents pertaining to the Jewish community and dealing especially with the Congregation Mikve Israel and Neve Salom, the David Aboab controversy and the communal reorganizations of 1750-1751. Of particular interest is a prayer mentioning Aaron Lopez, Jacob Rodriguez Rivera, Daniel Gomez, Congregation Shearith Israel of NYT, Shaar Hahamayim of Jamaica, and Neve Salom of Surinam. Also contains four rolls of microfilmed documentary and printed materials (147 items), including: lists of births (1723-1891), deaths (1883-1912), community members and synagogue officials; copies of communal regulations; a pastoral letter of Chief Rabbi Chumaciero (1864); and printed invitations, announcements, sermons, discourses, and occassional prayers.
