Simon, Bilah (Belle), 1755-1833

Type / Call #Religious Artifacts / P-238Contains the Passover Hagadah (London: 1770) used by Bilah Simon, and the ketubah presented by Solomon Myers-Cohen to Bilah Simon, dated 24 Shevat 5539 (10 February 1779).
The hagadah is inscribed "Bilah Simon's book presented to her by her Honoured Father the 13th of Septm. 1774." The ketubah also contains the tenaim (betrothal agreement) and both sections are signed by Solomon Myers-Cohen as the bridegroom, and Michael Gratz and Joseph Simon as witnesses. All the signatures are in English.
